Inspired by a Friend, I Embarked on a Cosplay Journey... and Challenged Myself with My Favorite Character, Ichika from 'The Quintessential Quintuplets'!

At the 'acosta!@Ikebukuro Sunshine City' event held on January 25-26, 2025, we had the pleasure of photographing Kure-san, who participated dressed as Ichika Nakano from 'The Quintessential Quintuplets.' We interviewed her about her cosplay highlights and future cosplay aspirations.

——What inspired you to cosplay as Ichika Nakano from 'The Quintessential Quintuplets' this time?

Kure (hereafter without honorifics): The reason I got into cosplay was because of a friend's influence!! I always had an interest in cosplay, but I hadn't taken the plunge. Then, a friend mentioned doing a 'The Quintessential Quintuplets' cosplay. Ichika, whom I adore, was still available, so I thought, 'Why not give it a try?' and decided to participate in acosta! this time!!

——You participated as part of a quintuplet group; could you share what was enjoyable and what was challenging about it?

Kure: It was a lot of fun because we all got together to advise each other on makeup and give compliments, which really boosted our self-esteem and helped us understand how we appeared to others!! The challenging part was setting the wig тт It was my first time, so I had endless questions like, 'Is it okay to set it this stiff?' I ended up participating without being completely satisfied, so next time, I want to join with a wig I'm fully happy with!!!

——What aspects of your cosplay are you particularly fond of this time?

Kure: My favorite part of Ichika's cosplay is the wig! Although there are many things to reflect on, I think I managed to set the bangs nicely, and they look cute!!

——Do you have any upcoming activities or future cosplays you’d like to try?

Kure: I hope to continue my activities at my own pace and in my own style!! I want to try cosplaying as Ririmu from 'Nijisanji' and Liriel from '2.5 Dimensional Seduction'!!
