"Mentalist vs Dark Scientist, 'Couldn't Take My Eyes Off' the Tense Psychological Battle" Anime 'Dr. STONE' Season 4 Episode 4

In the fourth episode of the fourth season of the anime "Dr.STONE," titled "Dr.X," Senku Ishigami (CV: Yusuke Kobayashi) and his team set foot on the American continent and are attacked by someone in an airplane. Senku and his team manage to bring down the plane, and the mentalist Gen sets out to pursue the fleeing enemy.

The attacker, Stanley Snyder (CV: Koji Yusa), soon appears before Gen. Stanley invites Gen to meet their leader, taking him to their base and unexpectedly submerging Gen's hands and feet in saltwater.

As Gen is left speechless, the scientist on Stanley's side, Dr. Xeno, leans in and begins questioning him, "Who are you? Where did you come from?" While Gen conceals the fact that he is a mentalist, he answers only with safe, non-specific responses. However, he soon notices what appears to be a lie detector.

Internally, Gen feels challenged, thinking, "Oh, are you really going to challenge a mentalist to such a game?" and begins to lie in a way that would not trigger the lie detector. Stanley is fooled by Gen, but Dr. Xeno remains cautious, stating, "Either he's an incredibly honest person or an incredibly deceitful one."
