Crafting to Fit the Body: Endless Sewing for the Love of 'Re:ZERO'! Rem & Ram Cosplay Fueled by Passion!

From December 29-30, 2024, Comic Market 105 was held at Tokyo Big Sight. Himari Amou and Sora Amayui participated with their cosplay of Rem and Ram from 'Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World' Along with showcasing their photos, we interviewed them about their cosplay highlights and the points they worked hard on.

——What inspired you to cosplay Rem and Ram from 'Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World' this time?

Himari Amou (hereafter, Himari): I got hooked on 'Re:ZERO' when I was in elementary school and have been a fan of Rem ever since. So, for my first Comiket participation, I absolutely wanted to go as Rem, my favorite character.

Sora Amayui (hereafter, Sora): We talked about wanting to cosplay from a genre we both love, and we decided to go with 'Re:ZERO' In terms of body type, I took on the role of Ram, and Himari chose Rem.

——What aspects did you want to express with this cosplay, and what did you focus on or are particularly proud of?

Himari: To express Rem's cuteness, I practiced makeup numerous times and also practiced facial expressions in front of the mirror a lot.

I bought the costume from Costomo, but I dismantled it completely once. I kept sewing and unsewing it repeatedly so it would fit my body and match the original length, striving to become the ideal Rem.

I also cut the wig, taking advice from a friend who is a stylist to get closer to Rem's look.

Sora: I focused on getting the overall silhouette (body shape, costume, etc.) as close to the character as possible. I'm particularly pleased with the silhouette of the chest and the eye makeup.

——Do you have any announcements about your activities, goals, or any future cosplay plans you'd like to share?

Himari: I want to increase my participation in more events and interact with many people! Currently, I can only speak Japanese and Chinese, but I'm studying English to become more global in my activities!

I'll keep giving it my all so that many people will support me, so please keep watching!

Sora: Besides cosplay, I'm also involved in music activities within Aichi Prefecture. I'm someone who pops up at various events, be it music or cosplay.

In the future, I want to do more cosplay from 'Genshin Impact.' I want to cosplay beautiful female characters, so I'm studying body types daily... .
