Minami is a first-year high school student working as a gravure idol. Even in her school uniform, her beautiful G-cup body stands out, and her personality is friendly and easygoing. Additionally, she has the unique trait of speaking in a fake Kansai dialect on a whim.
Minami made her first appearance in the fourth episode of the anime. Ruby (CV: Yurie Igoma) enrolled in Youtou High School, determined to become a top idol like her mother, and there she became classmates with Minami. The entertainment course at Youtou High School is filled with good-looking celebrities such as actors, models, voice actors, and kabuki actors. The high caliber of the students was so impressive that even Ruby, who has a legendary idol for a mother, was amazed, exclaiming, "To the right, a beauty; to the left, a handsome guy; this is nothing like my local junior high!"

The currently airing anime "Oshi no Ko" is based on the mega-hit manga by Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari, which concluded its four-and-a-half-year serialization last November and has surpassed 20 million copies in circulation.
