On January 31, 2025 (Friday), from 10:00 PM to 11:30 PM, 'Say You To Yo Asobi Friday [Tomokazu Seki × Nobuhiko Okamoto] #32' was broadcast on ABEMA.

Last week, Okamoto, who was critical of the cooking by the director known for being bad at cooking, was discovered to be just as lacking in culinary skills when searched for "Nobuhiko Okamoto cooking," revealing that he can't even properly hold a kitchen knife. In response, the broadcast featured a "How About You!? Nobuhiko Okamoto vs. Director Takahashi Cooking Showdown," a real cooking battle between the cooking-challenged Okamoto and Director Takahashi.

A face-off between the representative (perhaps?) bad cooks of Say You To Yo Asobi, Nobuhiko Okamoto and Director Takahashi!

When asked about his cooking skills, Okamoto admitted, "I haven’t cooked for myself in 38 years." He continued, "In a project for the anime 'Food Wars!: Shokugeki no Soma,' I made curry and added three pieces of chocolate as a secret ingredient, and was told, 'It’s not tasty!' But I think it’s better than Takahashi’s!" Seki, hearing Okamoto’s mysterious confidence, laughed awkwardly, hoping it wouldn't be a contest of the blind leading the blind. With that, the showdown began.

The competition was about making "gyoza." The participants could choose freely from ingredients provided by the program to make their gyoza, which would then be judged by Seki and AD Kurata, who holds a chef's license. Okamoto, full of confidence, said, "There’s no way it can turn out bad! I’ve eaten about 10,000 gyoza in my life!" and began preparing by picking up garlic to season the dish.

However, when Okamoto tried to crush the garlic with the handle of the knife, both Seki and AD Kurata screamed, "What!?" and "Eek!" Later, Okamoto complained that the gyoza wrappers were tearing when he tried to wrap them without water, and when water was provided, he dipped the wrappers directly into it. He even created a UFO-shaped gyoza using two wrappers, to which Seki reacted with, "It’s like a Yatsuhashi-style closing!" and "This guy probably hasn’t eaten gyoza before," expressing disbelief while saying, "This is bad, this is bad! Wow…"

Furthermore, during the frying process, Okamoto attempted to create crispy wings but ended up adding too much starch mixed with water, turning the gyoza into a state resembling stew. Seki laughed wryly, saying, "Isn’t it more like a boiled dish? Like boiled dumplings," and "I can’t believe anything anymore."

In the end, Okamoto’s special 'fried gyoza,' which had become more like boiled dumplings, was completed. Director Takahashi’s gyoza received a decent review despite being slightly burnt, with comments like, "Surprisingly tasty." In contrast, the moment the judges tasted Okamoto’s gyoza, they harshly commented, "Yeah, it’s bad," and "It’s sticky."

"Is it even possible for gyoza to taste bad!?" said a disheartened Okamoto, to which Seki replied, "I’m really surprised. I never imagined gyoza could taste this bad!" eliciting laughter.

As expected, Okamoto lost. Viewers reacted to Okamoto’s shocking cooking with comments like, "What is this, lol," "A horror show, lol," "A cooking battle full of surprises, lol," and "Chaos cooking."
