"A Betrayal at This Point...?" Shock in Episode 10 of Anime "MahoPri 2" as Battle Gets Suddenly Interrupted!

The sequel to the anime "Witchy Precure!" titled "Witchy Precure!! ~MIRAI DAYS~" (hereinafter referred to as "MahoPri 2") has been airing its 10th episode since March 15. Viewers were left stunned as Yamoh (voiced by Yasuhiro Takato), who was supposed to be an ally, disrupted the battle of the Precure, leading to reactions of "A betrayal at this point...?"

In the previous series, Yamoh was an aide to the dark magician Dokuroxy (voiced by Yosuke Akimoto) and was in opposition to the Precure. However, after Dokuroxy was defeated and all battles had ended, he started to build a good relationship with the Precure.

In "MahoPri 2," Yamoh had supposedly joined forces with the Precure to defeat the formidable enemy Chronosto (voiced by Shinichiro Miki). However, in episode 10, titled "Chasing Time," Yamoh suddenly ties up the Precure, declaring, "I won't let you interfere!" It turns out that he was asking Chronosto to take him back to the past, seemingly wanting to indulge in memories with Dokuroxy. He pleaded, "Please let me meet Dokuroxy-sama as he was once again!" and "I need Dokuroxy-sama."

Viewers, who were moved by the development of former enemies becoming allies, were shocked by Yamoh's unexpected actions. Online, reactions such as "I can't believe he betrayed them at this point...", "Why, Yamoh...?", and "I was watching the collaboration with Yamoh with deep emotion, so the betrayal at the last moment really got me" have been shared.

"MahouPri 2" is a sequel to "Witchy Precure!" which aired in 2016 and is set several years after the conclusion of the previous series. The story follows 20-year-old university student Mirai Asahina (voiced by Rie Takahashi) and 19-year-old Riko Izayoi (voiced by Yui Horie) as they learn of a new crisis threatening both the Magical World and the Non-Magic World, leading them to transform into Precure once again.

Due to the shadows of the proliferated Chronosto, the people of the Magical World have been petrified. Additionally, upon learning that Jun, Kei, and Emily have also been turned to stone, Mirai and the others decide to return to the Non-Magic World to prevent further damage. When Mirai and her friends, with Yamoh's magic, move to Tsunagimachi, they find that a new series of disappearances has occurred around the same time the Magical World was attacked. How is Chronosto able to operate in both worlds...? As everyone ponders this, Mirai comes up with one possibility: Could Chronosto be lurking in the "World of Between" that lies between the Magical World and Tsunagimachi? When they visit the World of Between, they find that Chronosto has finished gathering power and is about to awaken. As Mirai and the others transform to stop this awakening, the situation becomes increasingly chaotic due to Yamoh's betrayal of the Precure. Amidst this turmoil, Chronosto murmurs, "All time will come to a halt..."
