"Initial D" is a highly popular car manga by Shuichi Shigeno, serialized in "Young Magazine" (Kodansha). The story follows the protagonist Takumi Fujiwara, who, together with his beloved car known as the Hachiroku (AE86), battles against numerous street racers while aiming to become the "fastest on public roads." The TV anime started airing in April 1998, and the heated car race scenes captured the hearts of many young people and car fans. The series expanded to encompass five anime series, in addition to a movie adaptation, achieving major hit status. Its popularity is not limited to Japan, as it became loved by fans all over the world.

"MF GHOST" is a car race battle manga set in the near future of "Initial D." The protagonist is Kanata Katagiri, who comes to Japan from England. Kanata competes on public roads in Japan, mastering his DBA-ZN6 Toyota 86 GT (early model) as he fiercely races against rivals known as the "God 15," fighting to become the fastest.

The new series by Shuichi Shigeno, "Subaru to Suisei," is the story that follows after "Initial D" and "MF GHOST."

This year marks the 30th anniversary of "Initial D," and a special newspaper advertisement has been published to coincide with the release of the final volume of "MF GHOST."

What makes the newspaper ad exceptional is that it features the first newly drawn illustration by Shuichi Shigeno in 11 and a half years, bringing together Takumi Fujiwara, Keisuke Takahashi, Ryosuke Takahashi, and their beloved cars for a reunion. Additionally, the advertisement utilizes the left and right halves of two newspapers—Asahi Shimbun and Yomiuri Shimbun—so that the illustration is completed when the two papers are placed side by side.

Furthermore, this advertisement does not have just one pattern; in nine regions nationwide that served as iconic settings or famous racing locations in the story, the design differs.
