The web manga distribution service "Shonen Jump+" has released the final chapter of "Kaiju No. 8," concluding the series with the update at 0:00 on July 18, 2025.

"Kaiju No. 8" is a battle-action manga set in Japan, which has become one of the world's leading countries for kaiju appearances. The story follows protagonist Kafka Hibino, who once again aims to join the Japan Defense Force to fight against kaiju. After his body is transformed into a kaiju by a mysterious creature, Kafka becomes known as "Kaiju No. 8." The fierce battles between Kafka, the Defense Force, and the kaiju are depicted throughout the series.

Fans of the original manga took to the internet to express their thoughts after reading the final chapter, with comments such as "That was amazing!! Congratulations on finishing the series," "Thank you for creating a story that connects us! I’ll always love it!!," "Sensei, thank you for creating such a wonderful work. The Defense Force is so cool!" "It’s over... I enjoyed it from the very first chapter to the end," and "Kaiju No. 8 is finally finished. It's lonely."

Serialized on "Shonen Jump+" by Naoya Matsumoto since 2020, "Kaiju No. 8" has released up to Volume 15 of the comics and has exceeded 18 million copies in total circulation. The series earned top accolades, such as first place in the "2020 First Volume Yearly Sales Ranking for Comics" and first place in the "Next Manga Awards 2021," making it one of "Shonen Jump+"'s flagship titles. The upcoming Volume 16 is scheduled for release on September 4.

The anime adaptation began airing its first season in April 2024, with the second season scheduled to begin broadcasting on July 18.
