"Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie – Infinity Castle Arc: Chapter 1 Akaza's Return" premiered on Friday, July 18. Over its first three days (July 18–20), it attracted 3,843,613 moviegoers and earned a box office revenue of 5,524,298,500 yen. It set new all-time records in three categories—opening performance, first-day gross, and single-day gross—for a film released in Japan (according to Kogyo Tsushinsha).

This result surpassed the record previously set by "Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train" in 2020, which had achieved the No. 1 spot in history with 3.42 million admissions and 4.62 billion yen in box office revenue over its first three days.

Furthermore, over the course of four days including the final day of the three-day holiday weekend (July 18–21), the film recorded 5,164,348 admissions and a box office total of 7,315,846,800 yen. Details are as follows.

The anime "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" is based on the manga series created by Koyoharu Gotoge, with animation production by ufotable. So far, the TV anime series has included "Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc," "Mugen Train Arc," "Entertainment District Arc," "Swordsmith Village Arc," and "Hashira Training Arc," with "Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train" previously holding the record for highest box office revenue in Japanese history (51.7 billion yen). It was announced that "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie – Infinity Castle Arc" would be produced as a trilogy, with Chapter 1 having its theatrical release on Friday, July 18.
