49th Anniversary of "LaLa"! All-Star Autographed Shikishi Giveaway Announced "Natsume's Book of Friends" Surpasses 18 Million Copies in Print

The September issue of Hakusensha’s manga magazine "LaLa" was released on Thursday, July 24, 2025. This issue features the magazine’s first-ever "Random Canvas Board" as a bonus item. In addition, to commemorate the 49th anniversary of its launch, there is a special giveaway campaign for exclusive autographed shikishi (colored illustration boards), created by 28 all-star artists from both "LaLa" and "LaLa DX".

The "Random Canvas Board" comes in one of three varieties, and every purchaser is guaranteed to receive one. The participating artists are Yuki Midorikawa of "Natsume's Book of Friends," Sorata Akiduki of "Snow White with the Red Hair," and Matsuri Hino of "Vampire Knight: Memories."

Furthermore, this issue features "Natsume's Book of Friends" (by Yuki Midorikawa) in the opening color pages, and it was announced that the total circulation of the manga has surpassed 18 million copies.

This month’s issue depicts Yuu, Taki’s older brother, and Nyanko-sensei as they find themselves lost in a mysterious world. Yuu, called "Yakumenin" (the one who fulfills a role) by a self-proclaimed guide ayakashi, seems to know something about this place for some reason… Meanwhile, Natsume and Taki, waiting for their return, talk about a certain ayakashi. It is said that only humans can wind the spring of that ayakashi...

Also, the next issue—the October issue of "LaLa"—will include a bonus item: "Detective Nyanko-sensei's 3D Reminder Sticky Notes" by Yuki Midorikawa.
