To commemorate the 20th anniversary of its serialization, the manga "Detroit Metal City: Complete Edition" will be released. In addition, an original art exhibition celebrating the 20th anniversary of "Detroit Metal City's" advent has been announced.

"Detroit Metal City" is a manga series created by Kiminori Wakasugi. The series features “Detroit Metal City,” a devilish death metal band with overwhelming popularity in the indie music scene. Leading the band is the notorious charismatic figure, Johannes Krauser II. However, his true identity is... a timid young man who longs to be in a stylish pop band!? "This isn't the kind of band I wanted to be in!" Thus begins the legendary death metal gag manga!

The "Detroit Metal City: Complete Edition" features newly drawn cover illustrations for all volumes, restored color pages as originally published in the magazine, and additional color artworks. It also includes newly written "Self Liner Notes," in which the author personally looks back and explains each chapter. Furthermore, the final Volume 10 contains a newly drawn episode (Prequel).

This work, which finally reveals the previously untold secret story of the band's formation, will go on sale at all major digital bookstores on Friday, August 8, 2025.

"Detroit Metal City 20th Anniversary Original Art Exhibition" will be held in Osaka starting Saturday, August 16!
