The manga "Kyōka Ojō-sama to Okuda Shitsuji" by Sunao was released by KADOKAWA on Saturday, July 26, 2025.
"Kyōka Ojō-sama to Okuda Shitsuji" is a spontaneous comedy duo that originated on the Japanese TV variety show "Ariyoshi no Kabe," which airs every Wednesday at 7:00 PM on Nippon TV. The duo, performed by Kyonchi Kaneko of Party-chan and Shuji Okuda of Gakutensoku, first appeared on the episode broadcast on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. The unique setting featuring a "gal young lady and a butler" quickly gained popularity, trending immediately after the broadcast and sparking a wave of fan art and short stories on social media.
The work is a manga adaptation depicting the slapstick daily life comedy of Kyōka Ojō-sama, a playful and rebellious gal, and Okuda Shitsuji, the earnest butler who has served her for many years. The story also features her flashy friend Suga-chan and Nobuko, the "descendant" of a famous family, along with her butler Yojo.
On the cover band of the comic volume, Shiori Sato, assistant for "Ariyoshi no Kabe," offered a comment: "A precious story of two sincere and awkward individuals. Is there a name for this first feeling of 'kyun'?"
