The popular manga "BLUELOCK," written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura, has an official spin-off titled "BLUELOCK -Episode Nagi-," illustrated by Kota Sannomiya. The final volume, Volume 8, was released on August 12. This series was serialized in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine from June 9, 2022, to July 9, 2025, spanning about three years and concluding in a total of 36 chapters.
After reading the final chapter, fans have shared heartfelt praises such as “Reo is so pure it made me cry,” “I love Nagi so much,” and “The relationship between Nagi and Reo was wonderful.” Many also expressed how moved they were, with comments like “The final chapter of Episode Nagi was so good, I keep rereading it,” “I was moved by the characters’ growth,” and “Thank you Sannomiya-sensei and Kaneshiro-sensei! This was the best spin-off ever.”
Additionally, on artist Sannomiya’s official X account, a comment and illustration have been posted in connection with the final chapter’s release.
"BLUELOCK -Episode Nagi-" is the official spin-off manga of "BLUELOCK," which is currently serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine. The story takes place within the “Blue Lock” project—a plan to cultivate a striker egoistic enough to lead Japan to World Cup victory—and depicts the battles from the perspective of one of the series’ most popular characters, Seishiro Nagi. The series has surpassed 2.5 million copies in total sales. An anime film based on the same work, “BLUELOCK THE MOVIE -Episode Nagi-,” premiered on April 19, 2023.
