[Photos/Images] Yor’s Serve Is Like a Weapon... Fiona Faces Death from Yor’s Terrifying Tennis Serve in “SPY×FAMILY” 1st

In the anime “SPY×FAMILY,” even a tennis serve becomes a weapon of overwhelming destruction when wielded by Yor Forger (voiced by Saori Hayami), who possesses top-class combat skills. Even Fiona Frost (voiced by Ayane Sakura), an exceptionally skilled spy, seemed to feel the presence of death right before her eyes as the ball came hurtling toward her.

Currently available for binge-watching, the anime “SPY×FAMILY” is based on the manga by Tatsuya Endo, ongoing in “Shonen Jump+” (Shueisha). The series is a spy action-comedy depicting the daily life of master spy Loid Forger (voiced by Takuya Eguchi), who assumes the role of a psychiatrist for a secret mission, living undercover as a family with his assassin wife Yor Forger, and their telepathic daughter Anya Forger (voiced by Atsumi Tanezaki), all while keeping their true identities hidden from one another. The TV anime aired Season 1 in 2022 and Season 2 in 2023, with Season 3 scheduled to start airing in October 2025.

Fiona, an outstanding spy whose codename is “Nightfall,” is secretly in love with her colleague Loid and is quietly aiming to take the position of his wife. In episode 23, Fiona and Loid participate in an underground tennis tournament for a mission. On their way home, the two happen to run into Yor and Anya. It coincidentally appears that Yor and Anya were also playing tennis, and feeling a sense of rivalry, Fiona challenges Yor to a tennis match.

Although Yor looks like a gentle, ordinary woman, her true identity is that of an assassin with extraordinary physical abilities. When Yor hits the ball with full force, it shatters instantly. Even when she supposedly adjusts her strength, her next serve exceeds the speed of sound.

Even the normally cool-headed Fiona, as she faced the oncoming ball, was desperate, thinking, “Move my racket forward... or else... I’ll die!” Her racket was unable to withstand the impact and broke into pieces, resulting in her defeat in the match.

Yor’s serve, which drove a highly skilled spy into a corner, drew astonished reactions online, such as, “She really is a monster,” “This is tennis on another dimension,” “A serve faster than sound?! LOL,” and “What even is this sport?”
