[Photos/Images] It Wasn’t Made to Be an Assassin’s Tool, Right...? Yor’s Home Cooking Is Just Too Dangerous in “SPY x FAMILY” 1st

It seems that a top-class assassin can inflict fatal wounds even with just homemade cooking... Yor Forger (Saori Hayami), who is shockingly clumsy, has demonstrated such outrageous cooking skills that online, people have been quick to comment things like, “Isn’t Yor’s poison skill pretty high too?” and “What on earth did she do to make it turn purple?”

Currently streaming all at once, the anime “SPY x FAMILY” is based on the manga by Tatsuya Endo, serialized in Shonen Jump+. Super-skilled spy Loid Forger disguises himself as a psychiatrist for a top-secret mission and lives as a “temporary family,” hiding their true identities while residing with his assassin wife Yor Forger and their telepathic daughter Anya Forger (Atsumi Tanezaki), who can read people’s minds. This action-comedy anime first aired Season 1 in 2022, followed by Season 2 in 2023, and it has been decided that Season 3 will air starting October 2025.

In Episode 16, Yor secretly received cooking lessons from her coworker Camilla (Umeka Shouji) without Loid and the others knowing. However, the special training did not go as hoped; by the time she peeled just a potato with a peeler, the cutting board was a bloodbath... On the other hand, when she used a knife, perhaps due to being too used to handling blades, she would chop right through the ingredients and the cutting board itself, resulting in Camilla scolding her repeatedly.

Moreover, the dish she somehow managed to finish looked ominously purple. The flavor was apparently quite unique as well, since Yor’s younger brother Yuri Briar (Kensho Ono) declared, “It’s really delicious, sis!” out loud, but immediately vomited what he ate. Camilla and her boyfriend Dominic (Shouhei Kajikawa), too, fainted the moment they tasted it.

Yor’s home cooking delivered explosive destructive power, causing excitement online, with comments such as “Isn’t Yor’s poison skill pretty high too?”, “What on earth did she do to make it turn purple?”, and “In Yor’s hands, anything becomes a weapon lol.”
