The web manga series “Tis Time for ‘Torture,’ Princess” (original story by Robinson Haruhara, manga by Hirakei), serialized on the “Shonen Jump+” web comic platform, reached its final chapter with the update on August 19, 2025.

Set in a world where the Royal Army and the Demon Army have long been at odds, “Tis Time for ‘Torture,’ Princess” tells the story of a princess who is also the captain of the Knights, captured by the Demon Army and subjected to relentless “torture” in the form of delicious meals and fun games. This series has been described as “the world’s kindest torture fantasy, guaranteed to bring a smile to everyone’s face.”

Fans of the original manga took to the internet to share their reactions to the final chapter, posting a range of comments such as, “The finale was wonderful,” “I can’t believe my favorite manga is over...,” “I feel equally happy for the conclusion and sad that one of my weekly pleasures is gone,” “Ah, it’s really over… Thank you for being my Tuesday comfort,” “Hard to believe the torture I thought would go on forever is over… I’ll miss it…,” “It was fantastic from start to finish,” “No, I don’t want it to be over!,” “I honestly thought this series would run until we died, so the shock is huge,” “I almost cried at the last page of the finale,” “Thank you for entertaining us for nearly six years,” and “It ended so well.”

On August 12, when the final chapter announcement was made, Makoto Yukimura, the creator of “Vinland Saga,” also commented with sorrow: “Tis Time for ‘Torture,’ Princess’ is ending… The next chapter is the last… Nothing is sadder than the finale of your favorite manga. It’s a cruel blow! Sorry!” Notably, “Vinland Saga” concluded its serialization with the final chapter published in the July 25 issue of “Monthly Afternoon” (Kodansha).

On August 19, when the final chapter was released, Hirakei shared an illustration along with a message of gratitude, while Robinson Haruhara posted a short video of just over three minutes, titled “Now that the serialization is over, the original author shares some afterword-like thoughts of thanks and reflection.” He also commented on X (formerly Twitter), “Since Princess has reached its final chapter, I posted an afterword-style video.”

Serialized on “Shonen Jump+” by original author Robinson Haruhara and manga artist Hirakei since 2019, “Tis Time for ‘Torture,’ Princess” has been released in 17 comic volumes, surpassing 600,000 copies in circulation. The anime adaptation aired its first season from January 2024 with 12 episodes, and a second season is set to premiere in January 2026.

Furthermore, in honor of the manga’s conclusion, all chapters are available to read for free on Shonen Jump+ until August 25. A “fan favorite episode” poll is also currently being held.
