The final volume, volume 40, of the popular soccer manga "Aoashi" by Yugo Kobayashi was released on Friday, August 29, 2025, and the voices of fans mourning the final volume followed. On the same day, a PV commemorating the release of the final volume was published.
"Aoashi" is a manga work serialized for 10 years from January 5, 2015, to June 23, 2025, in "Big Comic Spirits" (Shogakukan). It depicts the growth of the protagonist, Aoi Ashito, who moved to Tokyo from Ehime Prefecture, set in the youth club "Tokyo City Esperion FC" of the J-League.

For two weeks from August 15 to August 28, 39 volumes of comics were released for free on the Shogakukan WEB manga site "Bicomi" and the manga apps "Manga One" and "Sunday Webry", boosting the release of the final volume.
"Aoashi" has been staged in July 2019 and May 2022, and there have been special collaborations with the J-League. The first season of the anime was broadcast from April 9, 2022, to September 24, and the second season is scheduled to be broadcast in 2026.
