The powerful, versatile voice actress Miyuki Sawashiro, praised as possessing a "rainbow of voices," delivered a spine-chilling performance! In episode 3 of the anime "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc," the Upper Rank Six demon Daki (voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro) verbally abused Zenitsu Agatsuma (voiced by Hiro Shimono), causing viewers to rave, "That super sadistic Miyukichi style is irresistible!"
Zenitsu, who infiltrated the Entertainment District disguised as a girl for his mission, discovered a crying young girl. Suddenly, Daki appeared behind him and glared at Zenitsu, asking, "What do you think you're doing in someone else's room?" With his heightened sense of hearing, Zenitsu broke out in a cold sweat in terror, realizing, "The one behind me is a demon... That's not the sound of a human."
When Zenitsu tried to explain, saying, "I'm sorry for entering without permission! The room was a mess, and that girl was crying, so..." Daki one-sidedly insulted him, saying things like, "You are so ugly! Disgusting."
Miyuki Sawashiro's performance, completely committed to the "scariness" and earning her the nickname of having a "rainbow of voices," drew a flurry of excited reactions online such as, "That super sadistic Miyukichi style is irresistible," "Miyuki Sawashiro's acting really shines," and "Ah! Ah! Ah! The ultimate insult in Miyuki Sawashiro's voice!"
The "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" anime series is based on the manga of the same name by Koyoharu Gotoge, which was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from 2016 to 2020. Set in the Taisho era, the story depicts the battle of Tanjirō Kamado (voiced by Natsuki Hanae), a boy whose family was killed by demons.
The TV anime "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc," which began broadcasting in April 2019, quickly became a sensation, and the sequel, "Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train," surpassed 50 billion yen in worldwide box office revenue. The total number of copies of the original manga in circulation worldwide has now reached 220 million, making it a record-breaking hit in the history of Japanese manga and anime.
Following the "Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc," the TV anime went on to broadcast the "Entertainment District Arc," "Swordsmith Village Arc," and "Hashira Training Arc," and the final episodes, "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle," have been announced as a trilogy. The first installment, "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle: Akaza Reincarnated," which has been screening since July 18, 2025, recorded over 31.4 billion yen in box office revenue within its first 52 days.
