The anime "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" is an adaptation of the manga of the same name, which was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha) from 2016 to 2020. Ignited by the anime's broadcast in April 2019, the series caused a phenomenal societal boom, and the cumulative print circulation for its 23 comic volumes has surpassed 220 million copies.

The first TV anime series, "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc," was followed by "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Mugen Train Arc," which depicted the "Mugen Train" storyline. "Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train" recorded a total box office revenue of approximately 51.7 billion yen, achieving the highest box office earnings in Japanese history. From 2021 to 2022, the TV anime adaptations "Mugen Train Arc" and "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc" aired, followed by "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc" in 2023, and "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Hashira Training Arc" in 2024.

"Infinity Castle Part 1" drew 3.84 million viewers and recorded 5.52 billion yen in box office revenue within its first three days, breaking the record for highest opening, first-day, and single-day performance in history. In the first 10 days after release, it surpassed approximately 12.87 billion yen. Reaching 10 billion yen within just 8 days marks the fastest time ever for any film screened in Japan, surpassing the previous record set by "Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train" (released in October 2020), which took 10 days, thereby setting a new all-time record.

From August 15, screenings in MX4D and 4DX formats began. Starting with Taiwan, the film has been released across several Asian countries, including Thailand, Malaysia, and South Korea, from mid-August onward. Furthermore, from September 11, the film began screening in Europe and North America, where it broke a 26-year-old record for the highest-opening Japanese animated film in North America, claiming the number one spot, and also achieving the highest box office record among Japanese films released worldwide.
