It has been announced that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle Chapter 1 - Akaza Returns, which has been released nationwide in Japan since July 18 and sequentially overseas from August, has surpassed 94.8 billion yen in total global box office revenue. As of October 13, the cumulative audience attendance is 77.53 million people, with total box office revenue of approximately 94.8 billion yen (654 million dollars, calculated at 1 dollar = 145 yen). Among all films released in 2025, it has currently recorded the 5th highest box office revenue worldwide (according to Sony Pictures Entertainment). It ranks 2nd in the all-time box office revenue rankings in Japan.

The anime "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" is an animated adaptation of the manga of the same name that was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha) from 2016 to 2020. The anime broadcast in April 2019 triggered a social phenomenon-level boom, and the cumulative circulation of the 23 manga volumes has surpassed 220 million copies.

"Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train," which depicted the "Mugen Train Arc" following the first TV anime series "Tanjiro Kamado," "Unwavering Resolve Arc," achieved a total box office revenue of approximately 51.7 billion yen and recorded the 1st place in all-time box office revenue in Japan. The TV anime "Mugen Train Arc" and "Entertainment District Arc" were broadcast and distributed from 2021 to 2022, the "Swordsmith Village Arc" in 2023, and the "Hashira Training Arc" in 2024.

Infinity Castle Chapter 1 recorded 3.84 million audience attendance and 5.52 billion yen in box office revenue within the first 3 days of release, breaking all-time records for opening performance, first-day performance, and single-day performance. It surpassed approximately 12.87 billion yen within 10 days of release. Breaking through 10 billion yen in 8 days from release became the fastest in history among films screened in Japan, surpassing the record of "Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train" (released in October 2020), which broke through 10 billion yen in 10 days from release, becoming the all-time No.1.

Screenings in MX4D and 4DX started from August 15. Additionally, beginning with Taiwan, the film was released centered on Asian countries such as Thailand, Malaysia, and South Korea from mid-August. Furthermore, it started screening in Europe and North America from September 11, breaking the opening record for Japanese anime films in North America for the first time in 26 years to become the all-time No.1, and also achieved the 1st place in all-time box office revenue for Japanese films released worldwide.
