
The unit Kessoku Band, which originated from the anime Bocchi the Rock!, has been confirmed to perform at the "2026 MEGAPORT Festival" to be held in Taiwan. This event will mark Kessoku Band's first-ever appearance at an overseas music festival.
Bocchi the Rock! is an anime based on the manga of the same name by Aki Hamaji. It is a girls' band anime following the growth of Hitori Gotoh, a high school girl who is extremely socially anxious but possesses impressive guitar skills. After meeting Nijika Ijichi and others, she forms the "Kessoku Band."
The first season aired in October 2022 and garnered significant response both domestically and internationally, including a massive hit soundtrack album and the winning of numerous anime awards. Production of a second TV series has also been confirmed.
On December 8, the official X account for the anime Bocchi the Rock! announced that Kessoku Band's first overseas festival appearance has been confirmed: they will perform at the "2026 MEGAPORT Festival" to be held in Taiwan on March 21-22, 2026. The confirmed cast members performing are Yoshino Aoyama (voicing Hitori Gotoh) and Ikumi Hasegawa (voicing Ikuyo Kita). Further details are announced as "Please wait for subsequent reports."
Following the announcement of their first overseas festival appearance, many congratulatory messages were gathered from fans. Additionally, joyful cheers also came from local fans, such as: "Welcome to Taiwan!!!!", "Thank you for coming to Taiwan!!", and "I'm thrilled to see them in my hometown!!!"
