[Photos/Images] Frieren in a Hot Spring! Poster Revealed for "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" Season 2 Tie-up with Inns Across Japan 1st

It has been announced that the anime series Frieren: Beyond Journey's End will release a special hot spring and bath collaboration poster, featuring the catchphrase: "Magic to warm you to the core."

The anime Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is based on the manga of the same name, written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe, currently serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday. Set in a world "after" the Demon King has been defeated, the story follows Frieren, a mage who has lived for over a thousand years, as she embarks on a journey to "understand humanity." The original manga has received high acclaim and numerous awards, with over 32 million copies in circulation. The second season of the TV anime is set to premiere on January 16, 2026. To celebrate the upcoming season, two official fanbooks—Magic to Understand Frieren & Himmel and Magic to Understand Fern & Stark—will be released simultaneously by Shogakukan on December 18.

In Season 2, which begins airing in January 2026, it is revealed that the protagonist, Frieren, is actually a fan of hot springs, and scenes of her relaxing in the bath will be depicted. This footage was featured in the second trailer for Season 2, released on YouTube in November, which has already surpassed 3.2 million views. The decision to launch this collaboration came from the perfect synergy between Frieren’s newly shown love for hot springs and the winter broadcast window of the January "cour."

The series features a wide variety of "lifestyle magic" rooted in daily life—not just combat spells—such as "magic to clean clothes" and "magic to turn sweet grapes sour." The catchphrase "Magic to warm you to the core" mirrors these in-universe spells, capturing the way a hot spring bath slowly and thoroughly warms the body. Together with the visual of Frieren’s blissful expression, fans can enjoy these collaboration posters at hot spring resorts across the country.

Through this project’s tie-up with the All-Japan Ryokan and Hotel Association—which represents lodgings across all 47 prefectures—approximately 16,000 posters will be displayed at various locations nationwide.
