The TV anime adaptation, produced by studio MAPPA, aired in 2022. Following that, the feature film Chainsaw Man: The Reze Arc has been in theaters since September 19, 2025. In the 91 days since its release (Sept. 19 – Dec. 18), the movie has surpassed 6.31 million admissions and grossed over 9.65 billion yen at the box office.

The announcement for the production of Chainsaw Man: The Assassin Arc was made during the stage event at "Jump Festa 2026," held on December 21. Serving as a direct sequel to the movie The Reze Arc, the newly released teaser visual and trailer impressively depict the assassins coming for Denji’s heart.

At this time, it has not yet been announced whether The Assassin Arc will be a TV series, a TV special, or a theatrical film. The broadcast or release window also remains undisclosed.
