It has been officially confirmed that Season 3 of the TV anime DANDADAN will air in 2027, and a teaser visual has been unveiled. Science SARU will continue to handle the animation production.
DANDADAN is a popular manga by Yukinobu Tatsu, currently serialized in Shonen Jump+, with over 12 million copies in circulation. The first season of the TV anime aired from October to December 2024, followed by the second season from July to September 2025.
The story follows Momo (Momo Ayase, CV: Shion Wakayama), a high school girl from a lineage of spirit mediums, and her classmate Okarun (Ken Takakura, CV: Natsuki Hanae), an occult fanatic. The two begin talking after Momo saves Okarun from class bullies, eventually teaming up to face looming supernatural threats in this occult battle and coming-of-age story.
The newly released teaser visual features a design that stands out with an overall purplish hue, differing significantly from the color palettes of previous visuals. It prominently features a mysterious beautiful girl peeking out from inside a "Space Kaiju." Alongside her, Okarun and Turbo Granny (CV: Mayumi Tanaka) are depicted with their eyes wide open as if shocked by something, while Momo is shown crouching with one knee up, casting a suspicious gaze.
The beautiful girl "wearing" the Space Kaiju also appeared in the final episode of Season 2, where her unexpected behavior shocked both Okarun and Momo. Notably, the credits for that episode listed her character simply as "Mysterious Beautiful Girl" and her voice actor as "●▲■," so her true name and cast information remain unknown.
