The broadcast start date for the TV anime based on the manga "Akane-banashi" by Hiroki Suenaga (original story) and Takamasa Moue (artwork) has been set for April 2026. It will be broadcast on TV Asahi's nationwide 24-station network "IMAnimation" slot and on BS Asahi.

With the broadcast announcement, the first key visual and the first main PV have been released. The key visual features characters including the protagonist Akane Ōsaki, and the PV depicts Akane's vow and determination to become a "shin'uchi," while also unveiling the character voices for the first time.

Additionally, five additional cast members have been announced who will play Akane's father and her fellow apprentices. Jun Fukuyama will play the role of Akane's father, Shinta Arakawa (Tōru Ōsaki), while Nobunaga Shimazaki will play Maikeru Arakawa, one of Akane's fellow apprentices, Chiaki Kobayashi will play Koguma Arakawa, Yōhei Azakami will play Kyoji Arakawa, and Seiichirō Yamashita will play Guriko Arakawa. Comments from each cast member have also been received, expressing their enthusiasm for tackling the subject of rakugo and their feelings about their respective roles.
