The synopsis and advance scene cuts for Episode 1 of the anime "You Can't Be In a Rom-Com with Your Childhood Friends!" have been released.

"You Can't Be In a Rom-Com with Your Childhood Friends!" is a "hot new childhood friend rom-com" by Shinya Misu, currently serialized to great acclaim in "Magazine Pocket," depicting the sweet, frustrating, and emotionally guarded romance with childhood friends. Directed by Satoshi Kuwabara, with series composition by Mitsutaka Hirota, scripts by Mitsutaka Hirota and Mayumi Morita, character design and chief animation direction by Reina Iwasaki, and animation production by Tezuka Productions, the romantic relationships woven by childhood friends are depicted both comically and delicately.

【Synopsis】
High school first-year student Eiyū has a source of worry. His childhood friends "Shio" and "Akari" are just too cute. If they found out he's looking at them "with perverted eyes" like an adult would, it would be way too embarrassing! Yet, "Shio" crawls into his bed every morning and stays close, while "Akari" keeps picking fights with him. Situations that seem like they're turning into a rom-com keep occurring, but Eiyū is aware that "reality is different." However, on the other hand, his two childhood friends feel about Eiyū...!?
