Led by Rei Ichidō, the "Kimengumi" Arrives! Anime "High School! Kimengumi" Episode 1 Synopsis & Advance Stills Released

The synopsis and advance stills for Episode 1 of the anime "High School! Kimengumi" have been released.

The original work began serialization in 1980 in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (published by Shueisha) as "3-nen Kimengumi," and was retitled "High School! Kimengumi" as the characters advanced to the next school level—an innovative approach for its time that became a huge hit. Furthermore, starting in 1985, a TV anime was also broadcast, triggering a major boom.

The show will begin airing nationwide on Fuji TV's "Noitamina" programming block every Friday at 11:30 PM starting January 9, with sequential streaming on various distribution services beginning January 10.

【Synopsis】
Yui Kawa transfers into Class 3-5 of Ichio Junior High School. According to Chie Uru, who sits next to her, this school has many eccentric individuals, especially some who are "the weirdest of the weird." Just as Yui is enthusiastically looking forward to making lots of memories, a bicycle built for five comes crashing into the classroom!? Led by their leader Rei Ichidō, who rides in the front basket, they are none other than a group of oddballs with extraordinary appearances and extraordinary personalities—the "Kimengumi"! Chasing after them as they run wild in all directions, Yui's unpredictable school life begins!
