Volume 14, the final volume of the manga "I Want to Hold Aono-kun So Badly I Could Die" by Umi Shiina, was released on January 22nd. This horror love story, praised as one-of-a-kind, has finally reached its conclusion.
The story depicts two people in the disconnected worlds of the living and the dead reaching out to each other. In the final volume, the birthday of the protagonist, Yuri, finally arrives. That night, every door in Kagachi Town is knocked upon, and people throughout the town become trapped by a storm. Yuri is told to kill Aono-kun in order to survive, but unable to do so, she has a kitchen knife plunged into her chest. As the real Yuri's heart stops and those watching over her are at a loss, the words Yuri left behind become a hint leading the story to its conclusion.
Additionally, the digital version includes "Kagachi Art Museum," which was published in the manga magazine "Afternoon," as part of the final chapter support relay project. The illustrations of Yuri and Aono drawn by a luxurious lineup of artists including Tatsuki Fujimoto, Ko Kiyohara, Taiki Kuwabara, Ayako Noda, Natsujikei Miyazaki, Shuzo Oshimi, Yukiko Gotou, Misaki Takamatsu, Sayu Yamamoto, Tsubasa Yamaguchi, Kimiko Sekito, Ikada Tsuruma, Makoto Yukimura, and Minoru Takera is a must-see.
To commemorate the release of the final volume, a "Memorable Scene Contest" is being held on the official X account of the series. Thirty participants who post memorable scenes will be selected by lottery to receive signed reproduction manuscripts by Umi Shiina.
