New Scene Cuts Released of "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime" Second Theatrical Film "Tears of the Azure Sea," Showing Characters Enjoying a Vacation in Resort Wear!

Scene cuts have arrived from "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Azure Sea," which will be released on Friday, February 27th.

"That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime" is a work of the same name by Taiki Kawakami, Fuse, and Mitz Vah, with the series' cumulative circulation surpassing 56 million copies worldwide. The anime has accumulated over 3 billion views, and has recorded 1 billion page views on "Shōsetsuka ni Narō," boasting high popularity over many years.

Following the first theatrical film, this work is a completely new story with original concept and full supervision by the original author, Fuse. The director is Yasuhito Kikuchi, who worked on "Macross F" and "That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Scarlet Bond." Set in the "sea" for the first time in the series, the story depicts Rimuru Tempest and his companions being drawn into new adventures and conspiracies.

The story is set in the undersea nation of "Kaien Kingdom," which worships the Water Dragon as its guardian deity. After completing the founding festival of the Jura Tempest Federation, Rimuru Tempest and his group, who had visited a resort island at the invitation of Elmesia, the Emperor of the Sorcerous Dynasty of Sarion, encounter Yura, a shrine maiden of Kaien Kingdom. She had come to the surface seeking help to save the Water Dragon and her nation from the conspiracies swirling within the country. In Kaien Kingdom, Djeese, called a genius prime minister, was advancing a certain scheme using a flute called the "Dragon's Fang" that awakens the Water Dragon, the nation's guardian deity. Meanwhile, Minister Zodon, acting on Djeese's orders, pursues Yura. Accepting a request from Elmesia, Rimuru Tempest and his companions head to the ocean floor to save Yura and restore peace to the azure sea.

Scene cuts have now been released showing the protagonist Rimuru Tempest, along with Veldora Tempest, Benimaru, Shuna, Shion, Sōei, Gobta, Hinata Sakaguchi, Luminus Valentine, Elmesia, Milim Nava, and others enjoying the resort island. The revealed visuals show the party enjoying a brief respite after the founding festival, engaging in vacation activities such as fishing and dining in resort wear different from their usual attire, as well as Yura savoring local delicacies.
