A tie-up event with the popular manga series "Orb: On the Movements of the Earth" will be held at the Roppongi Hills Observatory "Tokyo City View" starting Friday, April 10.

Written by Uoto, "Orb: On the Movements of the Earth" (published by Shogakukan) is a dramatic saga set in 15th-century Europe—a time when geocentrism was considered the absolute truth. The story follows individuals who risked their lives to prove the "heretical" heliocentric theory. With over 5.5 million copies in print, the series has captured an even wider audience following its 2024 anime adaptation.

Centered around the core themes of astronomy, the universe, stars, and "intellect," this event features dynamic exhibits that make full use of the observatory’s vast space at 250 meters above sea level. It is an immersive experience where visitors can relive the passion of medieval astronomers for the cosmos through iconic scenes and powerful dialogue from the series.

One of the event’s highlights is the "Starry Sky Theater" set within the observatory. Created in collaboration with Ohira Tech Ltd. (led by world-renowned planetarium creator Takayuki Ohira), the space features the next-generation "MEGASTAR" projector. This creates a unique, timeless experience where millions of stars—the same ones that captivated the series' protagonists—shimmer alongside the sprawling modern nightscape of Tokyo below.

In addition to original merchandise exclusive to this event, a curated selection of items centered around the themes of "Astronomy," "Space," "Starry Skies," and "Science" will be available. Special events, including talk shows and workshops, are also planned—with more details to be released soon.
