"Expressing the Yandere Vibe with Dark Reds!" A Captivating Azur Lane Taihou Cosplay Through Rich Color Gradations

At "Ikebukuro Halloween Cosplay Festival 2025," held from October 24 to 26, 2025, we captured stunning photos of Sayuki Kurose, who participated as Taihou from Azur Lane. Along with the photos, we sat down for an interview to discuss the key details she wanted to express through her cosplay and her future cosplay goals.

——What inspired you to cosplay as Taihou from Azur Lane for this event?

Sayuki Kurose: It was love at first sight when I saw her in the game. I fell for her long black hair and her yandere personality.

——What were the key points you wanted to express with this cosplay, and what are your favorite parts about it?

Kurose: I wanted to bring out that "yandere" vibe, so I went with a dark red for my blush and lips. I carefully coordinated the colors, hoping that the deep reds of my makeup would really pop against her black hair and red eyes.

——Since you participated as Taihou on both the 25th and 26th at Ike-Halo, your love for her really shines through. Could you tell us what you find most appealing about Taihou?

Kurose: It’s that "heavy, clingy love" she has for the Commander. I also absolutely adore her look—the black hair and red eyes—as well as her yandere personality.

——Are there any other cosplays you’d like to try in the future?

Kurose: After I finish the costumes I’m currently working on, I’d really like to try crossplaying as male characters, too.
