"Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle" Surpasses 40 Billion Yen in Domestic Box Office Revenue, Becoming the Second Japanese Film in History After "Mugen Train"

It was announced that "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle Chapter 1: Akaza's Return," which has been in theaters since July 18, 2025, has surpassed 27.34 million admissions and 40 billion yen in domestic box office revenue in Japan by March 29, 2026, marking 255 days since its release.

The anime "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" is based on the mega-hit manga by Koyoharu Gotoge, which has surpassed 220 million copies in total circulation, with animation production handled by ufotable. Chapter 1 of "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle," announced as a trilogy serving as the culmination of the anime series that began with "Tanjiro Kamado: Unwavering Resolve Arc" in 2019, is currently enjoying a blockbuster theatrical run.

The film continued its momentum from recording Japan's all-time No. 1 box office performance in its first three days, breaking through 10 billion, 20 billion, and 30 billion yen milestones at the fastest pace in Japanese film history. On the 254th day since its release, it finally reached the major milestone of 40 billion yen, achieving the feat of becoming the second film in Japanese history to surpass 40 billion yen in domestic box office revenue, following "Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train" (according to Kogyo Tsushinsha).

The production team has expressed deep gratitude to fans nationwide who watched the film and to theater staff who have continued screening it for an extended period. In conjunction with achieving this milestone, the final PV for the film has also been newly released.
