The additional cast and the second teaser visual for the TV anime "Romelia War Chronicle" (The Record of Romelia) were unveiled during a talk stage event at the Pony Canyon booth during "AnimeJapan 2026," held at Tokyo Big Sight on March 29. It was officially announced that the series will air for two cours starting in 2026. Furthermore, scene cuts from the first episode currently in production were premiered during the event.
The series is based on the light novel "Romelia War Chronicle: Mao wo Taoshita ato mo Jinrui Yabasou dakara Guntai Soshiki shita" (The Record of Romelia: It Looks Like Humanity is Still in Trouble After Defeating the Demon King, So I Organized an Army), which originated on the novel-posting site "Shousetsuka ni Narou." The story follows the protagonist, Romelia, who is told her engagement to the prince is cancelled immediately after defeating the Demon King. It is a "post-war" war chronicle about building a new world. The franchise spans light novels and a manga adaptation, with over 550,000 copies in circulation.
Joining the cast, Yuya Hirose will play Henri, Romelia's former fiancé; Sayaka Senbongi will play the Saint Elizabeth, who traveled with Romelia; Mariya Ise will play the Witch Ekaterina, also a former traveling companion; and Asaka will play the swordswoman Ryoki. Commenting on the recording process, Hirose noted, "There are so many characters that the booth is almost overflowing with people every time we record!" (lol), highlighting the large scale of the voice acting sessions.
Additionally, the second teaser visual was released, featuring Romelia staring straight ahead while Henri, Elizabeth, Ekaterina, and Ryoki loom behind her, creating a distinctly ominous atmosphere. Alongside this, a special "Episode Zero" titled "The First Step," newly written by the original author Ryo Ariyama, has been published on the official website. Episode Zero depicts the story of Romelia receiving her divine grace before embarking on her journey.
