Peeking into Famous Scenes with Ranma & Akane!? TV Anime "Ranma 1/2" Exhibition Report

The TV Anime "Ranma 1/2" Exhibition will be held from April 23 at Exhibition Hall A in Sunshine City, Ikebukuro. Based on the slapstick martial arts romantic comedy manga by Rumiko Takahashi, the completely new anime adaptation aired its first season starting in October 2024 and its second season in October 2025. Furthermore, the third season is scheduled to begin broadcasting in October 2026.

The TV Anime "Ranma 1/2" Exhibition allows visitors to enjoy recreations of famous scenes in the Tendo family living room and the Tendo Dojo, as well as displays focused on episodes from Seasons 1 and 2. This article introduces the highlights of the exhibition, centered on photos taken during the media preview held the day before the opening.

At the entrance, visitors are greeted by a special collaboration life-sized standee of Ranma Saotome (male) and Ranma (female). Moving further inside, the opening movie is screened in an area recreating the Tendo family pond. By looking into the movie as if peeking into the pond, visitors can immerse themselves in the world of the "Ranma 1/2" TV anime.

The main area is packed with exhibits where visitors can look back on the trajectory of the "Ranma 1/2" story alongside the characters. Each episode is summarized in a pop-style format, making it fun to revisit scenes from your favorite chapters.

Two photo spots are also available. After enjoying the Season 1 episode displays, a photo spot recreating the Tendo family living room appears. Visitors can take photos with familiar characters like Akane Tendō and Genma Saotome in his panda form. In the "Hometown Area," animation production materials and staff comments are on display.

During the media preview, a Genma (Panda) mascot also made an appearance. He toured the exhibition hall and held a photo session.

The Season 2 episode displays were organized chapter by chapter, just like those for Season 1. Panels of characters who appeared in Season 2, such as Mousse and Ukyo Kuonji, are also lined up.

The second photo spot recreates a scene from the Tendo Dojo centered around the kiss between Ranma and Akane, as depicted in Season 1, Episode 8, "My Dear Charlotte."

When you peek inside, you can see your own reflection in a mirror alongside Nabiki Tendō and others who were watching over the pair, giving the impression that you are witnessing the innocent interaction between Ranma and Akane together with them.

At the end of the exhibition, visitors can watch "The Future of Ranma and Akane's Love" in the Ending Theater. This allows for a cinematic reflection on the journey Ranma and Akane have taken throughout the TV anime.

After exiting the display area, a goods shop area is available, selling a wide variety of original TV Anime "Ranma 1/2" Exhibition merchandise. Getting goods of your favorite characters is a perfect way to commemorate your visit to the exhibition.

Additionally, this exhibition offers an audio guide presented as a voice drama by Ranma's voice actor, Kappei Yamaguchi. The guide is designed so that you navigate the exhibits while searching for Akane alongside Ranma, so "Ranma 1/2" fans should definitely give it a try.
