Luffy’s Adventure Begins Anew! New Anime "THE ONE PIECE" to Stream Worldwide in February 2027; Concept Art Unveiled

"THE ONE PIECE," a new project re-animating the "ONE PIECE" manga starting from the very first chapter of the "East Blue Saga," is officially underway. Additionally, new concept art has been released.

The mega-popular manga "ONE PIECE" (written by Eiichiro Oda and published by Shueisha) began its serialization in "Weekly Shonen Jump" in 1997. This March, the cumulative global circulation of its published volumes finally surpassed 600 million copies. The story follows Monkey D. Luffy, who gained the properties of rubber after eating a Devil Fruit, as he journeys with his crew to become the "King of the Pirates."

Production for the new anime "THE ONE PIECE" will be handled by WIT STUDIO, the acclaimed studio behind numerous hits such as "SPY x FAMILY" and "Attack on Titan."

The newly unveiled concept art depicts a scene in Foosha Village, where the protagonist, Monkey D. Luffy, spent his childhood. Set in the tavern "PARTYS BAR," the image emotionally captures an innocent, laughing Luffy surrounded by Shanks (Captain of the Red-Haired Pirates anchored in the village), First Mate Benn Beckman, and the proprietor Makino.

Looking at the expressions of Shanks and Makino as they watch Luffy’s energetic smile, as well as the overall atmosphere of the tavern, one can catch a glimpse of the "un-pirate-like" kindness of the Red-Haired Pirates. This dynamic piece, capturing a precious moment in Foosha Village—the "start of the adventure"—greatly heightens expectations for the series.

Furthermore, it has been confirmed that the series will be streamed worldwide on Netflix starting February 2027. "THE ONE PIECE" Season 1 will cover 50 chapters of the original manga. The story, leading up to Luffy's meeting with Sanji (the sous-chef of the seafaring restaurant "Baratie"), will be released all at once in a 7-episode run with a total duration of approximately 300 minutes.
