Season 1 of the Anime "From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman" to Have a Free Marathon Broadcast of All Episodes on June 22

It has been announced that Season 1 of the TV anime "From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman" will make its streaming debut on ABEMA starting Monday, June 22, 2026.

"From Old Country Bumpkin to Master Swordsman" is a fantasy work based on the light novel by Shigeru Sagazaki, which was serialized on the novel-posting website "Shosetsuka ni Naro" and is currently published under "SQEX Novel" (Square Enix). The story follows Beryl, an unremarkable middle-aged swordsman who runs a dojo in the countryside. Triggered by a reunion with his former disciple, he becomes a special instructor for the knight order, and without realizing his own strength, his power becomes known to the world. The sword-fighting action by the strongest "old country bumpkin," the master-disciple relationships with his students, and the success story have garnered immense support from many fans.

It will be available for viewing on ABEMA Premium starting at 12:00 AM on Monday, June 22. In addition, a free marathon broadcast of all episodes of Season 1 will be held from 3:30 PM on the same day, and all episodes will be available to watch for free for one week after the broadcast.
