TV Anime "Akane-banashi" Finale Celebration! Free Marathon Broadcast of All Episodes Up to the Latest Confirmed Starting June 20

To celebrate the advance streaming of the final episode of the TV anime "Akane-banashi" on ABEMA, a free marathon broadcast project will be held starting June 20. In addition, all episodes will be available for free streaming from immediately after the final episode's distribution until Saturday, June 27.

The TV anime "Akane-banashi" is based on the rakugo manga by Yuki Suenaga and Takamasa Moue, currently serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha). The story follows Akane Ōsaki, a young girl who grew up captivated by her rakugoka father's magical rakugo performances. Triggered by the events surrounding her father's "Shin'uchi Promotion Exam," she dives into the world of rakugo herself, aiming for the highest rank of "Shin'uchi" in this authentic rakugo coming-of-age story.

The intense drama of rakugoka who stake their lives on the art of storytelling has sparked widespread conversation, earning high praise as a work that has opened up a new genre in shonen manga. The TV anime, which began broadcasting in April 2026, features a star-studded cast including Anna Nagase (as Akane Ōsaki), Takuya Eguchi (as Karashi Nerimaya), Rie Takahashi (as Hikaru Kōragi), and Akihisa Shiono (as Kaisei Arakawa). The profound world of rakugo depicted through animation combined with its authentic drama is attracting even more attention.

In the free marathon broadcast project held to commemorate the ABEMA advance streaming of the finale of the TV anime "Akane-banashi," a free catch-up marathon from the First Seat to the Eleventh Seat (just before the finale) will be broadcast from 2:00 PM on June 20, the day of the final episode's broadcast. Following that, from 24:00 (Midnight), the finale, the Twelfth Seat, will be streamed in advance for free. Furthermore, a free marathon broadcast of all episodes up to the final episode will also be held from 11:30 AM the following day, June 21.

Furthermore, all episodes will be available to watch for free for one week until June 27, starting immediately after the advance streaming of the final episode.
