Kihachi’s Dream Is Set in Motion Once Again! Episode 1 Synopsis & Preview Cuts Released for the Anime “Sparks of Tomorrow”

Along with the synopsis and preview cuts for Episode 1, a pre-broadcast live stream on YouTube has been confirmed for the new anime “Sparks of Tomorrow.”

This work is the latest title from Kyoto Animation, depicting a wondrous adventure story of a boy and girl who dream of an "age of electricity" in a world covered in smoke. Starting July 5, broadcasting will begin sequentially on ABC TV, TOKYO MX, TV Aichi, and BS11, and it will also be available for exclusive worldwide streaming on Netflix.

The story is set in a fictional era where steam engines have highly developed. Kihachi Sakamoto (CV: Yūma Uchida), a boy who dreams of the "age of electricity," used to record electrical inventions in the "20th Century Electricity Catalog" together with his older brother, Seiroku (CV: Daisuke Ono). However, Seiroku went off to war carrying the "20th Century Electricity Catalog" and never returned. Years pass, and Inako Momokawa (CV: Sora Amamiya), the daughter of a sake brewer, appears before Kihachi, and for some reason, he is entrusted with the "20th Century Electricity Catalog" by her. Targeting the catalog is Yōsuke Mizoe (CV: Kōki Uchiyama), a wealthy conglomerate scion who is pushing forward with an arranged political marriage to Inako. Kihachi's dream, which had ground to a halt, begins to move once again following a shocking encounter with Inako Momokawa, the daughter of a sake brewer. Pursuing the lost electricity catalog is Yōsuke Mizoe, a scion of a steam-powered conglomerate. What was held in the hands of Inako as she fled from his evil clutches—?!
