It has been announced that "Waza-Monogatari: Karen Ogre," a new episode from the "MONOGATARI Series" sequel "MONOGATARI Series: OFF & MONSTER Season," will air this winter. Along with the announcement, the first key visual and introduction have been released.

The "MONOGATARI Series" is a renowned juvenile dark fantasy novel series and the representative work of popular author Nisio Isin. It tells the story of Koyomi Araragi, a high school boy who gains a nearly immortal body, and various girls who encounter supernatural aberrations known as "Kai-i." The series is structured into six parts: First Season, Second Season, Final Season, Off Season, Monster Season, and Family Season, with everything up to the Final Season having already been adapted into anime. "MONOGATARI Series: OFF & MONSTER Season" depicts the prequels and sequels of the girls who were saved by Koyomi.

"Waza-Monogatari: Karen Ogre" is a new episode of "MONOGATARI Series: OFF & MONSTER Season," the production of which was announced in July last year. The newly released first key visual strikingly features Karen Araragi gazing at her own reflection in the water's surface.

The setting of this work begins when Karen Araragi becomes a first-year high school student. Although her karate master acknowledges her strength, she is ordered to undergo secluded mountain training to advance to the next level. Her destination is the Ouga Three Mountains, consisting of Mount Onie, Mount Chihari, and Mount Kachikachi. Attention is now focused on what kinds of hardships and encounters await her at the end of this mountain isolation, where she goes to face her inner self.
