Ainosuke Oshie, a Kyoto Imperial University Student in Love with Suzu, Appears... Anime Sparks of Tomorrow Episode 5 Synopsis and Preview Stills Released

From the new anime Sparks of Tomorrow, the synopsis and preview stills for Episode 5 have been released. Additionally, it was announced that KENN will join the cast as guest character Ainosuke Oshie, who appears in Episode 5.

This work is Kyoto Animation's latest series, portraying a tale of adventure about boys and girls who dream of an era of electricity in a smoke-covered world. Starting July 5, broadcasts will begin sequentially on ABC TV, TOKYO MX, TV Aichi, and BS11, with global exclusive streaming available on Netflix.

Set in a fictional era when steam engines have developed, a boy who dreams of the "era of electricity," Kihachi Sakamoto (CV: Yūma Uchida), along with his older brother Seiroku (CV: Daisuke Ono), was recording electrical inventions in the "20th Century Electricity Catalog." However, after Seiroku took the "20th Century Electricity Catalog" with him when departing for the front, he never returned. As time passes, Inako Momokawa (CV: Sora Amamiya), a daughter of a sake brewer, appears before Kihachi and, for some reason, entrusts the "20th Century Electricity Catalog" to him. Targeting it is Yōsuke Mizoe (CV: Kōki Uchiyama), the scion of a financial zaibatsu who is pushing for a political marriage with Inako. Surrounding the catalog, Kihachi and Inako's "dreams" begin to move forward—

In Episode 5, Ainosuke Oshie, a Kyoto Imperial University student who is in love with Suzu Harashima (CV: Yō Taichi), makes an appearance, depicting people getting dragged into the actions of Ainosuke, who has set his sights on a new invention. KENN, who played the role of Ainosuke Oshie, commented upon his casting: "He pulled me along not as a fool, but as a straightforward person who pushes through his feelings with strong devotion."

What caught his eye was an invention from the electricity catalog that tells if love is mutual?! To push Ainosuke forward, Kihachi and his friends reluctantly begin experiments. While Inako's hopes grow for Ainosuke and Suzu's romance, the heart of Suzu's best friend, Kate, is conflicted...? Can the power of electricity understand the human heart—?!
