One day, Crown Prince Haku Keiun, who was visiting Ranshu, is attacked by an assassin, and his attendant Ryu Jiei is severely wounded. While searching for someone who can treat him, they visit a girl calling herself a physician, Kaku Koyo, and using a method never seen before—stitching the wound closed with a needle and thread—Jiei's injury begins to heal.
