To mark Awa Odori — one of Japan's three great Bon dance festivals, held August 11 (Tue) to 15 (Sat) in Tokushima City, Tokushima Prefecture — the Chiikawa Pocket Observation Deck has opened atop Mt. Bizan, the symbol of Tokushima City, as part of the Chiikawa Pocket Summer Festival 2026, a summer event for Chiikawa's first smartphone app, Chiikawa Pocket. The spot is drawing large crowds, with fans delighting over comments like "Rakko and Kurimanju look too good in their yukata" and "They're all so cute."

Atop Mt. Bizan, which offers a panoramic view of the city of Tokushima, the Chiikawa Pocket Observation Deck has appeared, featuring designs of the Chiikawa characters dressed in yukata. Photo spots where visitors can take commemorative pictures alongside the yukata-clad characters have been set up, drawing a steady stream of tourists, families, and Chiikawa fans visiting for Awa Odori. The combination of the view from Mt. Bizan and the adorable Chiikawa characters offers a different atmosphere from the heat of Awa Odori, and has become a beloved spot for making relaxing summer memories.

On social media, comments such as "The observation deck is such a cute space" and "I'd love to see the Chiikawa characters doing Awa Odori too!" have been pouring in, and the spot is drawing attention as a highlight of summer in Tokushima.

Chiikawa Pocket is a smartphone game app based on Chiikawa, the popular manga series posted on X by illustrator Nagano, built around the concept of "always being together with the Chiikawa characters, anytime and anywhere," and packed with activities that let players experience the world of Chiikawa. It has been available in 43 countries and regions worldwide since March 27, 2025.
