Rudeus Has an Audience With the Armored Dragon King Perugius: Preview Scene Cuts From Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 3 Episode 8 Released

Preview scene cuts from Episode 8, "Sky Fortress," of the TV anime's third season, Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation Season 3, have been released.

Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation is based on the light novel by Rifujin na Magonote, which began serialization on the novel-posting site Shosetsuka ni Naro in 2012. The story follows a 34 year old jobless, unmarried NEET who is kicked out of his family's home and eventually dies in a traffic accident, only to be reincarnated in a world of swords and magic as Rudeus Greyrat (voiced by Yumi Uchiyama). Drawing on the memories and regrets of his previous life, he resolves to "truly live this time," and the series depicts his grand adventures. The series has sold more than 18 million copies in total, and 2026 marks the fifth anniversary of its anime adaptation.

The TV anime's third season began airing last week, on Saturday, July 4. Episodes 1 and 2, known as the Eris training arc, depicted Eris Greyrat (voiced by Ai Kakuma), one of the heroines, growing through her sword training. Starting with Episode 8, "Sky Fortress," the story enters a new chapter: the Chaos Breaker arc.

To learn how to cure his mother Zenith, Rudeus is introduced by Nanahoshi to Perugius, the Armored Dragon King, one of the Three Heroes who slew the Demon God, who resides in the sky fortress Chaos Breaker, and comes to have an audience with him. Overwhelming in presence, Perugius listens to Zenith's story and brings up the name of an unexpected person.
