To mark the 25th anniversary of Fullmetal Alchemist, the signature work of manga artist Hiromu Arakawa, and the 5th anniversary of Daemons of the Shadow Realm, currently serialized in Monthly Shonen Gangan, the Fullmetal Alchemist × Daemons of the Shadow Realm Exhibition, where visitors can experience the original artwork and the appeal of the characters from both series, has been running since August 13 at the Event Square on the 8th floor of Matsuya Ginza in Tokyo.

This article introduces the highlights of the exhibition, centering on photos taken at the press preview held the day before it opened.

Stepping into the entrance, visitors are greeted by standee panels of Edward Elric and Alphonse Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist and Yuru and Asa from Daemons of the Shadow Realm. There is also a message from Arakawa, and Q&A panels by Arakawa are placed at key points throughout the exhibition.

Passing through the Gate of Truth into the Fullmetal Alchemist exhibition zone, the first thing that catches the eye is a display recreating a transmutation circle. From there, original artwork of famous scenes is lined up alongside panels spotlighting main characters such as Ed and Al.

At the entrance to the Daemons of the Shadow Realm exhibition area that follows, the principal image of Sayu has been recreated as a sculpture. Visitors can immerse themselves in the world of the series at once while looking back on it through the original artwork on display.

The strikingly impactful sculpture of Gabriel and the display recreating the living room of the Danno family are also worth a look. In a bit of staging, the TV in the living room shows "that scene" from Fullmetal Alchemist.

In Arakawa's reference material area, a variety of materials, layout drafts, and rough sketches relating to both series are on display. Items that fans will want to see, such as Hawkeye's sniper rifle and Dera's rifle, were among them. In the theater area, visitors can enjoy a video collaboration, complete with voice acting, in which famous scenes of Al and Ed and of Yuru and Asa cross over.

The anime area that closes out the exhibition also displays autograph boards from the casts of Fullmetal Alchemist and Daemons of the Shadow Realm. At the merchandise corner, a wide range of goods from both series was on sale.

After the Tokyo run ends, the exhibition has also been confirmed for Hokkaido, Ishikawa, Osaka, and Aichi.
