A special panel for the anime Dragon Ball Super: Beerus was held on October 8 local time (October 9 in Japan) at New York Comic Con 2026, currently taking place at the Javits Center in New York, USA. A crowd of 3,000 fans gathered at the venue, where the first episode of the series received its world-first screening.
Appearing on the panel were Jason Douglas, who voices Beerus in the English dub, Ian Sinclair, who voices Whis, and Monica Rial, who voices Bulma and served as MC. Douglas said, "What drew me to acting was great scripts, appealing characters, and exciting action. Dragon Ball has all of that." Sinclair expressed his delight, saying, "Even if I were told there was only one project I could appear in for the rest of my life, and that it was Dragon Ball, I would be truly happy."
A conversation between Masako Nozawa, the voice of Son Goku, and Koichi Yamadera, the voice of Beerus, the God of Destruction, was also screened. Nozawa said, "The story Mr. Toriyama created is truly captivating. I hope people all over the world will enjoy it," while Yamadera, expressing his love for the work, said, "Please be sure to see Beerus's exploits, his coolness, his fearsomeness, and his strength." At the end of the talk segment, Nozawa appeared once more in a video message, and the whole venue fired off a Kamehameha together, heightening the sense of unity.
Also, at the Dragon Ball booth set up inside the venue, visitors could see a three-dimensional display and statues recreating the "Super Surge" visual of Beerus and Goku. Playable demo stations for the card game Dragon Ball Super Card Game Fusion World and for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 were also set up, and novelties were handed out to attendees. The panel also featured the latest information on these games, as well as the figure lineup.
Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is an enhanced version of the TV anime Dragon Ball Super, for which Akira Toriyama handled the original work, story, and character design, featuring added new cuts, redrawn scenes, and a restructured story. Set several years after the fierce battle with Majin Buu, it depicts a universe-shaking battle between Beerus, the God of Destruction who has awakened from a long slumber, and Goku and his friends.
