It has been confirmed that the anime "SHOSHIMIN: How to become Ordinary" Season 2 will have a simultaneous TV broadcast and exclusive pre-release streaming on ABEMA. In preparation for the broadcast start, a marathon of Season 1 and an exclusive free broadcast of the cast talk part from the pre-screening event for Season 2 have also been announced.
This work is an anime adaptation of a popular mystery novel series by Naoki Prize-winning author Honobu Yonezawa, known for the "Kotenbu" series including "Hyouka," with a total series circulation exceeding 1.1 million copies.
The story is a youth mystery where Jogoro Kobato, who has had bitter experiences in the past due to his excellent deductive skills, aims to become a pure and modest "shoshimin" (ordinary citizen), forming a "mutually beneficial relationship" with his classmate Yuki Osanai, who shares the same goal. However, they somehow get embroiled in mysterious incidents and misfortunes. Season 2 will cover the stories up to "Autumn Limited: Chestnut Kinton Incident" and "Winter Limited: Bonbon Chocolat Incident."
Now, the simultaneous TV broadcast and exclusive pre-release streaming of the anime "SHOSHIMIN: How to become Ordinary" Season 2 on ABEMA have been confirmed. Starting April 5, 2025 (Saturday), the latest episodes will be broadcast for free simultaneously on terrestrial TV every Saturday night at 25:30 on the ABEMA Anime Channel, with exclusive pre-release streaming also beginning. For one week after the broadcast, the latest episodes will be available for free viewing.
Additionally, from the "SHOSHIMIN: How to become Ordinary" Season 2 pre-screening event on April 5 (Saturday), an exclusive free broadcast of the cast talk part has also been confirmed. The second part, featuring appearances by Shuichiro Umeda (as Jogoro Kobato), Hina Yomiya (as Yuki Osanai), Makoto Furukawa (as Kengo Dojima), Teppei Uenishi (as Takahiko Urino), Yume Miyamoto (as Tokiko Nakamaru), and Seiichiro Yamashita (as Yuto Hiya), will be broadcast for free on the Anime LIVE Channel starting at 24:45 on April 5 (Saturday).
