The Unveiling of Satoru Gojo's True Face: Exceedingly Powerful and Beautiful Domain Expansion in "Jujutsu Kaisen"

The anime "Jujutsu Kaisen" features a scene that has significantly increased the fan base of the strongest jujutsu sorcerer, Satoru Gojo (voiced by Yuichi Nakamura). This scene showcases Gojo's incredibly beautiful face and his overwhelming defeat of a special-grade cursed spirit using his domain expansion "Unlimited Void," epitomizing the "blindfolded handsome cheat character" that is Gojo.

The currently streaming anime "Jujutsu Kaisen" is based on the manga of the same name by Gege Akutami, which has over 100 million copies in circulation. The story depicts the battles between curses, born from negative human emotions, and jujutsu sorcerers who exorcise them through jujutsu. The narrative takes a significant turn when Yuji Itadori (voiced by Junya Enoki), who ends up sharing a body with the "King of Curses" Ryomen Sukuna, enrolls in the "Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College," a specialized institution against curses.

The first season of the TV anime, which aired starting October 2020, received significant acclaim not only in Japan but worldwide. The second season, which aired from July to December 2023, depicted the backstory of the "strongest jujutsu sorcerer" Satoru Gojo and the "worst jujutsu sorcerer" Suguru Geto (voiced by Takahiro Sakurai) during their high school days in "Hidden Inventory / Premature Death," as well as the continued storyline from the first season "Shibuya Incident." Additionally, production is underway for the sequel "Culling Game," and a compilation film "Jujutsu Kaisen Hidden Inventory/ Premature Death Compilation Movie" is set to be released on May 30, 2025.

Gojo is recognized by himself and others as the strongest jujutsu sorcerer and is one of the most popular characters in the series with his strikingly handsome appearance. In Episode 7, Gojo is ambushed by the special-grade cursed spirit Jogo (voiced by Shigeru Chiba). However, Gojo is so confident in the face of this high-grade spirit that he goes out of his way to bring the training Yuji along, calling it an "extracurricular lesson," and even taunts Jogo by saying, "Because you’re weak."

Enraged, Jogo unleashes his domain expansion "Coffin of the Iron Mountain," trapping Gojo and Yuji in a magma-spewing domain. Gojo, while lecturing Yuji on "domains," also explains the countermeasures against an opponent's domain expansion. Then, to surpass Jogo's domain, he removes his blindfold and activates his own domain expansion "Unlimited Void."

With "Unlimited Void," Jogo, overwhelmed by "infinite information" sent to his senses, finds himself unable to move, muttering, "I can see everything. I feel everything. The information never completes. Therefore, I can do nothing." Gojo, having taken the upper hand, tells Jogo, "I have questions to ask you, so I'll let you off with just this," and decapitates him.
