Anime "The Summer Hikaru Died" is a youthful horror story that begins when a close childhood friend realizes that he has been replaced by someone who is not human. The original work is a manga of the same name by Mokumokuren, serialized in "Young Ace UP" (KADOKAWA). As of March 2025, in addition to the six volumes of the comics, one volume of the novelization has been published, and the total number of copies including e-books has exceeded 3 million.
