Additional characters for the anime "The Summer Hikaru Died" have been revealed. It was announced that Yumiri Hanamori, Wakana Kowaka, and Chikahiro Kobayashi have joined the cast.

"The Summer Hikaru Died" is a youth horror story that begins when someone realizes their close childhood friend has been replaced by something inhuman. The original work is a manga of the same name by Mokumokuren, serialized in "Young Ace UP" (KADOKAWA). As of March 2025, 6 volumes of the comic and 1 novelization have been published, with the total number of copies, including digital books, exceeding 3 million.

Asako Yamagishi (CV: Yumiri Hanamori)

Yoshiki's classmate. Since childhood, she has been able to "hear" things that ordinary people can't. Tall, cheerful, and intelligent.

Rie Kurebayashi (CV: Wakana Kowaka)

A housewife who can "see" things that ordinary people can't. Concerned about Yoshiki, who is with a dangerous and frightening entity, she warns him to stay away.

Tanaka (CV: Chikahiro Kobayashi)

A man who belongs to a certain company and seems to be investigating something. Always carefree and elusive. His hamster is his partner.
