Emilia's Cruel Words to Julius... "What an Ending!" The Shocking Finale of "Re:Zero" Season 3!

The final episode of the anime "Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World- 3rd season" is currently airing since March 26. Just when it seemed like the story was heading towards a happy ending with peace restored to the city, it was revealed at the very last moment that the allied forces had suffered significant damage, leaving viewers in shock and despair.

In the 66th episode, titled "Result of the Pristella Offensive," Natsuki Subaru (voiced by Yusuke Kobayashi) and his allies successfully repelled the Sin Archbishops of the Witch's Cult. As the city's inhabitants regained their smiles and cheerful music played, Subaru noticed Julius Juukulius (voiced by Takuya Eguchi) standing alone in the shadows. When Subaru called out to him, Julius murmured in a hoarse voice, "Subaru, do you...," and appeared somewhat surprised.

Then Emilia (voiced by Rie Takahashi) approached and asked, "What's wrong, Subaru?" When Subaru replied, "Julius is acting strange," Emilia fell silent for a moment, showing a puzzled expression. She then asked, "Julius, is he someone you know, Subaru?" Shockingly, Emilia had forgotten about Julius, who was supposed to be their ally.

The cause seems to be Roy Alphard (voiced by Kengo Kawanishi), the Sin Archbishop of Gluttony of the Witch's Cult. Roy possesses the ability to devour people's names and memories, causing those affected to lose their memories or have their existence forgotten by those around them. Due to Roy's attack, it appears that the memories of Julius have vanished from the minds of Subaru's comrades, except for Subaru himself.
